Summary
The IEEE Technology Management Council directs its efforts toward advancing the practice of engineering and technology management as a professional discipline, encouraging theory development for managing organizations with a high engineering or technical content, and promoting high professional standards among its members.
The Technology Management Council represents the interests of those who manage engineering (including non-engineers), engineers who hold managerial and strategic leadership responsibilities (even if outside of the practice of engineering), and upward-bound engineers - those who anticipate and seek to prepare for eventual leadership and strategic responsibilities
The Oregon Chapter pursues the goals of the IEEE Management Council at the local level by:
- Hosting monthly presentations on topics of current interest, held on the third Wednesday of the month at the Portland State Business Accelerator
- Hosting joint events in the technology field with many professional and commercial organizations.
- Training and education for or transition to the professional discipline of engineering management, entrepreneurship and the socioeconomic impacts of engineering and technology management on society.
