At an open meeting at IBM in 1999, participants agreed to revitalize the Computer and Communications Societies in Oregon. The Societies are now meeting jointly in the hopes of providing richer technical content.

The Societies exist to provide a forum:

• Where face-to-face networking with other engineering professionals can occur
• For professional development opportunities
• To deliver high quality presentations on leading edge technologies
• To act as a conduit to the national and international societies societies
